On March 13th, 2009 KVUE did an interview with Marshall about crime in downtown Austin and the Downtown Austin Neighborhood Association’s (DANA) efforts to work with the Austin Police Department.
“Crime is like a roach,” Marshall says. “You put a lot of light on it or you put a lot of people around it and it’s not very happy.” The video goes on to say that Marshall and other downtown stakeholders met with Austin police over concerns about the recent increase in crime. The reporter ends the piece by highlighting DANA’s initiatives targeting aggressive panhandling and drug dealing in the area and that the group will meet againwith Austin police in May.
