The Austin Police Department’s Vehicular Homicide Unit is seeking the public’s assistance to identify a suspect and possible witnesses in a leaving the scene crash (09-1742259) that occurred on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at about 2:30 a.m.
A 27 year old bicyclist was travelling northbound on Lavaca at 5th Street when he was struck from behind by a vehicle that left the scene. Two witnesses told the victim’s friend that the suspect vehicle was a taxi cab. The victim that suffered serious injuries was transported to an area hospital by a friend.
