The Downtown Austin Alliance (DAA) announced today that Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo will be speaking to the public on downtown safety issues. Police Chief Acevedo will “discuss ways the community can work together to ensure that downtown Austin remains a safe, fun and friendly place to live, work and play” according to the DAA’s announcement. More specifically he will discuss “current methods APD uses to keep our downtown safe and provide information on a new downtown safety camera system”.
