There was no motivation for this attack but pure sadism and that really gets under my skin. I hope his loved ones can find peace and I want his assailants caught. As far as I'm concerned that was premeditated murder. However, I disagree with the idea of the monitoring cameras. I'm basing my opinion on the fact that they've done that in the U.K., and it hasn't really accomplished anything but closing the doors on those citizen's right to privacy. While I don't like the idea of cameras passively recording our every move, I'm all for some pro-active police surveillance. Even citizens can tell from reading the news approximately when and where these types of crimes typically happen. I'm wondering, if undercover officers monitored a group of thugs hanging around 6th street around last call, exactly how long would they have to wait before they caught them doing something illegal? How long before they witnessed an assault firsthand and it resulted in an immediate arrest? It seems to me that would be the best way of actually catching some of these guys and getting a solid conviction. The random maliciousness of this is appalling. He hung on for 8 days trying in vain to do what his mother, brother, dad, stepmother, baby sister and his heart broken grand parents wnted him to do. "LIVE". He did not, and we are all heart broken over the loss. He was my grand son and will be missed and mourned every day. Such a good person to be taken like this.
