Man breaks another man’s jaw outside Club Fuze downtown

by Marshall Jones on June 18, 2009

Another violent fight off 6th Street left one man with a broken jaw and another man in custody.  Around 1:45AM Monday morning, an intoxicated Joseph Solis may have touched Kenneth Wayne Perkins, 36,  in front of Club Fuze. Perkins then punched Solis in the face allegedly breaking his jaw in four places.  Read the Statesman story here.

My company does security for quite a few clubs on 6th st and the Warehouse District. Over the last several years my staff and I have seen a noticable increase in fights and violence in both areas, an have intervened at times to prevent further injury. We have a great relationship with APD who responds quickly when called. There is just too much going on and not enough officers to be everywhere at once. It seems that the”sucker punch” is also becoming quite common. The victim more times than not cannot identify the assailant. I hope that the continued hard work of the APD and TABC puts a dent in these activities as we all become more aware of whats going on around us.
