Because of this story, several of us downtown residents went shopping for MACE this morning and have vowed to *never go running unarmed* in the early morning hours. There is often very suspicious activity in the pre-dawn hours *every day of the week* in the 5th street, Convention Center, Railyard area. This story has driven home for us just how dangerous these streets have become.

The lady who 'maced' this guy is a hero. And at least the woman at the Railyard can know that through her tragedy, we are starting to learn the hard lessons here in downtown.
